Odisha Videsh Siksha Bruti Scholarship 2026: The Government of Odisha has initiated Odisha Videsh Siksha Bruti Scheme to make a new step in the higher education. The government has come up with this programme to those students who aspire to study abroad. This Odisha Videsh Siksha Bruti Scholarship scheme has been initiated particularly to the students of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe so that they do not abandon their studies because of financial constraints and they can pursue the PG and PhD in good overseas universities.
This plan will take effect in the academic year 2026-27 and under this, the bright students will be provided with a financial aid of up to 25 lakh annually. The desire by the government is that deserving students should not be left behind simply because of resource deprivation. Among students of meritorious 50 SC and ST providing up to 25 lakh per annum to pursue postgraduate or PhD studies in the top 200 QS ranked universities globally.

The Odisha Videsh Siksha Bruti Scholarship scheme was introduced on 26 November 2025 and was to be implemented since the academic year 2026-27. Application period with Odisha Videsh Shiksha Bruti Scheme is maintained twice in a year. The initial application period will include July to August and the second will include December to January. This will enable the students to apply according to their admission timeline.
This is a program that is implemented by Odisha government by its Higher Education Department so as to make the level playing fields even among the youth of the reserved categories. Videsh Siksha Bruti Scholarship Amount
Under the Odisha Videsh Siksha Bruti Scheme 2026, each of the selected students will be awarded up to 25 lakh of the scholarship annually. This figure has been calculated taking into consideration the tuition fees, living standards, and other needs in regards to education.
The government has also made it clear that the family of the student should not earn above 12 lakh per annum. This will make sure that the scheme is given to the deserving students.
Eligibility
Student has the domicile evidence. SC or ST Certificate (If Applicable) classification attested by competent authority. Income certificate required: Family annual income less than 12 lakh Rupees. Students who are categorized under SC/ST and whose families have an annual income of INR 12 lakhs and less can receive the Videsh Siksha Bruti scholarship through this program.
The candidates should have been enrolled in a postgraduate or doctoral course in one of the 200 highest-ranked universities in the QS World University Rankings. The application procedure will undergo two cycles per year July/August cycle and December/January cycle. A total of 50 students will be given scholarships every year in three categories of higher education streams.

Scholarship Benefits
The selected students will get up to INR 25 lakh annually to pay their tuition, living expenses, and other learning expenses when studying in foreign countries. Among the 50 scholarships are 10 positions (4 PG and 6 PhD) in the engineering and technical disciplines, 10 (4 PG and 6 PhD) in the medical, agriculture, architecture, and technical disciplines, and 30 (10 PG and 20 PhD) in the general higher education disciplines.
