Civil Services Exam Eligibility 2026
There are certain eligibility criteria to be fulfilled by the candidates if they want to apply.
- The candidates must have the citizen of India, if they want to opt for the services like IAS, IPS and IFS under UPSC. For other services, the candidates can belong to Nepal or Bhutan, or might have be a Tibetan refugee or a PIO etc.
- The age limit for applying the post is 21 to 32 years for General and EWS candidates. It is 21 to 35 years for OBC candidates, 21 to 37 years for candidates belong to SC/ST and 42 years maximum for PwBD candidates.
- The candidates must have completed their Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in any kind of discipline. If anyone is studying and still in the final year, they are also eligible to apply for Prelims examination and later on he/she can provide the proof of passing the examination before the Mains Examination.
- The candidates are bounded by number of attempts. The applicants of General or EWS category can give the examination 6 times while there are 9 attempts for OBC/PWD candidates. There is no such limitation for the SC/ST aspirants. Remember that, filling up the form doesn’t count as an attempt until you have appeared in the examination hall for at least one paper.

How to Apply for UPSC 2026?
- The candidates need to visit the official website which is www.upsc.gov.in.
- If someone is applying for the first time then they need to register at first. So candidates have to create a new account by putting necessary credentials.
- After logging in fill up the UPSC form 2026 by putting personal, educational and other necessary information.
- Upload required documents as asked like your photo, signature, thumb impression etc.
- Then review the application form and pay the fee. Then submit.
- Keep a copy for future use.

Application Fees for UPSC Examination 2026
The candidates has to pay ₹100 if they are belong to General, EWS and OBC category. There is no fees for the candidates of the reserved categories like SC/ST/PWD and Female candidates. The candidates have to pay the fee via Online or via SBI Challan, if they want to pay offline.

UPSC Interview 2026
- Interview: The candidates who will qualify the mains exam, can go through the interview process. It contains 275 marks. To know the personality, mental IQ and patience, this exam is taken.
The candidates will be evaluated on the ground of marks secured in the Mains Examination and personality Test.
